Bonjour Paris

I just left paris this morning, and it was an amazing 3 days. Lindsay and I had a great time, we saw all the tourist sights, and experienced local Parisien life.

We were staying with a French family about 40 min. south of Paris. The town was adorable (I can leave the name at a later date, I do not have my notes with me). At this house we ate real french cuisine, including but not limited to, duck, cheese, and bread. I love french bread. The communication barrier was a little challenging, but we had a friend with us who is fluent in both French and English.

We saw many sights. The Effiel Tower, the Louvre, Moulin Rouge and the Nortre Dame were my favourite. I love all the architecture in Paris.

We met up with many of Lindsays exchange student friends. They were all fabulous.

The days in Paris went by too fast. Right now we are in Verona, Italy. A surprise stop that we had to make because of crazy train schedules. I am excited to see Italy.

My next post will probably be after the Sound of Music tour in Salzburg.

Ciao for now.

P.S. I will post pictures later, as I do not have time right now.

  1. When I was in France, I was still eating all meat products. I remember eating duck there too. It was delicious.

Did you go to the basement part of the Louvre and see all the stone work with the little stonecutter symbols carved into it? I thought that was really neat.

I was not a huge fan of the Eiffel Tower because we decided to walk up it instead of taking the elevator. Also, before we left for our exchange trip, we watched a movie in French class about all of these crazy people who were inventing apparatus to allow them to fly. They all seemed to want to test out their inventions at the Eiffel Tower. Only a handful of the devices worked. The inventors should have picked lower structures from which to jump.

Sounds like France was a very unique and fun experience to start off your adventure. I can't wait to see some of the pictures. Ah, spring time in Paris... Now Italy, you know how the saying goes, when in Rome do as the Romans. Have fun!! xoxoxo

  3. Oh Megan,

I love your random facts. I did not go up the tower because it was a holiday, and it was insanely busy. I will do it when I go back before we leave for Canada.
